Where to eat in Sechelt

Restaurants and shops cluster in Sechelt Village, around Cowrie Street. Two piers add waterfront stops: the Trail Bay Pier lies near the downtown shops and restaurants, and the pier at Davis Bay has restaurants and shops within walking distance. That means many places to eat are close to the water. It does not mean that every restaurant has a view or a terrace.

This page does not rank venues. It shows you where to look, when the Saturday market runs and how to get around without a car. If you are planning a day out first, Sunshine Coast boat trips and day tours are a good way to earn the meal.

Sechelt Village and Cowrie Street

Cowrie Street is the centre of town. Low shops, parked cars and the yellow centre line make it look like a small main street, and the restaurants and cafés sit among the shops. Walk the street once, read the posted menus and choose. Hours differ by place and by season, so look at the door before you commit to a table.

The village is also where the bus from Langdale and Davis Bay ends up, which makes it the easiest area if you arrive without a car. For what to do around it, see our guide to things to do in Sechelt.

Trail Bay Pier: eating near the water

The Trail Bay Pier is close to the downtown shops and restaurants. Pairing a meal with a walk to the end of the pier is the simplest way to get waterfront time without leaving the village. Check opening hours before you walk over.

The shore beside the pier has driftwood and a line of trees, as the photo shows. More shoreline options are on our page about Davis Bay and the beaches of Sechelt.

Davis Bay: restaurants near the pier

At Davis Bay the pier is used for swimming and fishing, and restaurants and shops are within walking distance. It suits an early evening: walk the pier, find a table and watch the light on the water. Whether the sky gives you a sunset depends on cloud, so do not book around it.

If you are staying near Davis Bay, you can eat on foot and skip the car. Our where to stay in Sechelt and Davis Bay page compares the areas.

The Sechelt Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market

The market takes place on Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 on Cowrie Street in downtown Sechelt. Stalls offer food, baked goods, prepared meals and crafts. In 2026 the market season runs from 4 April to 31 October, so look for the current dates if you visit outside that window.

Because it sells prepared food, the market works as a casual lunch. Come hungry, bring a bag for baked goods and plan to pair it with a walk to the Trail Bay Pier afterwards.

Eating without a car

Sunshine Coast Transit route 90 links the Langdale ferry terminal, Gibsons and Davis Bay, and Cowrie Street in Sechelt. The ride takes about 40 to 50 minutes depending on the trip. A single fare costs CAD 2 for adults, seniors and youth, and a DayPASS costs CAD 4. Children up to and including age 12 ride free. Check the current timetable before you plan a late return, because the last bus matters when dinner runs long.

Tips for choosing a place

  • Check opening hours on the day. Hours differ by place and season.
  • Ask whether you should book, especially for an evening meal in summer.
  • Do not assume a water view. Being near the water is not the same as having a table beside it.
